TIME
The time in Peru is 5 hours behind GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and is similar to EST (Eastern Standard Time) in the United States.However, Peru does not operate daylight savings time in order to save energy, therefore the hours are the same year-round and do not vary from one geographic region to another. Local Holidays
Although there are other festivities, the following are the official holidays when the banks and offices are closed: January 1st (New Year); March or April (Holy Week); May 1st (Labor Day); June 29tho (San Pedro & San Pablo); July 28-29th (Independence); August 30th (Santa Rosa de Lima); October 8th (Combate de Angamos); November 1st (All Saints); December 8th (Inmaculada Concepción); December 25th (Christmas).
Working Hours
Store hours are variable and tend to change constantly. Some stores close for long hours during lunchtime. However, in most cases, shopping centers open from 10.00 am to 21.00 hours. In government offices during weekends, the open hours are limited or even non-existent. You could ask taxi drivers which stores are open late.
