Day 01: ... / LIMA
Upon arrival, reception and transfer to Miraflores Park Hotel. The city of Lima was founded by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro on January 5, 1535, the eve of the Epiphany of the Magi – from which it derived its evocative original name of The City of Kings. It is a colonial city of rare fascination and unexpected pleasures; with quiet elegant corners among ancient buildings where the night air is scented with jasmine. In the night, if you agree with, we can arrange a delicious dinner at one of the most distinguish restaurants in the city (Astrid & Gaston, Rafael, La Gloria, La Rosa Nautica, among others). Overnight in Lima.

Day 02: LIMA
After breakfast, you will enjoy a guided visit to two of the main museums located in our capital city. First you will visit the National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History, considered Peru’s museum per excellence, located in an old Colonial mansion that was the old residence of Peru’s Liberators. Here you will admire the Estela Raymondi and the Tello Obelisk, famous stone monuments dating back to the formative period; and a major collection of metals and fabrics from ancient Peru. Then you will visit Larco Museum, housed in a unique colonial residence dating back to the XVII century constructed on top of a pre-Colombian pyramid dating back to the VIII century, which includes an exquisite Collection of Peruvian Gold and Silver artifacts and its famous pre-Hispanic Erotic Art Hall. After enjoying a delicious lunch, we recommend the restaurant located inside the museum, you will enjoy a guided city tour to Lima’s different attractions and get to know its three different historical periods: Pre-Hispanic, Colonial and Republican. You will begin the tour visiting one the most traditional residential areas in the capital, then Huaca Pucllana, an archaeological precinct build in the IV century B.C., to then continue to the Lima’s historic center, where you will admire its main squares and its distinct buildings and churches. Finally, you will visit Miraflores, where you will enjoy a great view of the Pacific Ocean before returning to Miraflores Park Hotel. At the night, if you agree with, we can arrange a delicious dinner at one of the most distinguish restaurants in the city (Astrid & Gaston, Rafael, La Gloria, La Rosa Nautica, among others). Overnight in Lima.

Day 03: LIMA / AREQUIPA
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Arequipa. Upon your arrival, reception and transfer to Casa Andina Private Collection Hotel. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided city tour, in which you will visit the Historic Center, The Santa Catalina Convent, without a doubt the jewel of Arequipa, and Yanahuara Lookout, an excellent vantage point to appreciate El Misti Volcano. Then you will visit The Santuario de Altura del Sur Andino Museum, where you will see the Mummy Juanita, or Lady of Ampato, a virgin of the Sun who was sacrificed to the Apus or spirits of the mountains and recently discovered in the summit of Ampato Glacier . After the visit, return transfer to the hotel. At the night, if you agree with, we can arrange a delicious dinner at one of the most distinguish restaurants in the city (Are, Quepay, La Trattoria del Monasterio, Sol de Mayo, among others). Overnight in Arequipa.

Day 04: AREQUIPA / CAÑON DEL COLCA
After breakfast, you will enjoy a unique excursion to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest places on the planet reaching a depth of 3,400 meters at the lowest point. On your way you will admire the Misti and Chacani volcanoes, the Vicuñas National Reserve, a great variety of flora and fauna from the natural lagoons of Bofedales and Mar Atrapado and a huge rock formations, in the shape of castles, called Enchanted Castle. Early afternoon arrival to Chivay, the main town in the región, where you will enjoy lunch. After a quick visit to the town you may enjoy a bath in La Calera hot springs, just outside the town. Then you will continue through the valley towards Las Casitas del Colca, an Orient-Express luxury hotel set in the peace and serenity of the canyon surrounded by beautiful pre-Columbian terraces that are still farmed by Inca decedents. Rest of the afternoon to enjoy the several activities de hotel offers. In the night you will enjoy a delicious dinner in the hotel. Overnight in Colca.

Day 05: COLCA CANYON
After breakfast, you may descend into the valley to visit some of the Andean villages, all which have beautiful colonial-style churches; or stay and enjoy the diverse activities the hotel offers during the day like: Colca river trout fishing excursion; Peruvian paso horseback riding excursion reminiscing the time when only people and horses traversed the Colca Valley; Star gazing taking advantage of Colca’s blue and clear of pollution sky; Baby alpaca’s feeding a real opportunity to get close to nature; Cooking classes with typical Peruvian ingredients. Lunch and dinner in the hotel. Overnight at Las Casitas del Colca.

Day 06: CAÑON DEL COLCA / TITILAKA
After breakfast, early departure to the Cruz del Condor, the best vantage point to appreciate the deepness of the canyon and witness, if the conditions allow it, the majestic flight of the Andean Condor in its natural habitat. On the way back to Chivay, you will pass through picturesque towns; admire pre-Inca hanging tombs and imposing Inca terraces. At the appointed time you will start your drive to Hotel Titilaka, at the shores of Lake Titicaca. Box lunch on the way. On this trip through this volcanic region with a special charm you will enjoy spectacular scenery with snowcapped mountains, altitude lakes and Andean fauna. On the way, you will visit the famous Sillustani Tombs, which are located between Puno and Juliaca. Sillustani sits on a small hilltop overlooking Lake Umayo. These Tombs or Chullpas are characterized by their round and square bases, as well as the cornice on top. Travelers everywhere dream of reaching Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. Here, on the remote Andean altiplano between Peru and Bolivia, living history converges with a dramatic landscape. Aymara and Quechua cultures continue quietly as they have for centuries, in tiny villages scattered around the lake. Near one of these idyllic hamlets, on a peninsula of Chucuito on the Lake Titicaca’s western Peruvian shore, Inkaterra has created the luxury refugee Titilaka. Once in the hotel you will enjoy a refreshing cocktail on Titilaka’s waterfront terrace, watching the idyllic sunset give way to a velvet-black tapestry sprinkled with endless brilliant stars. Then you will enjoy an intimate fireside dinner prepared with wholesome regional ingredients: fresh trout from the lake, alpaca meat from the highland plateaus and the famously varied potatoes and grains of Peru. Overnight at Hotel Titilaka, at the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Day 07: TITILAKA / ISLA TAQUILE / ISLAS UROS / TITILAKA
After breakfast, you will enjoy a guided excursion to the Sacred Lake of The Incas. A boat ride will take you to the island of Taquile, where you can admire the beautiful mountain ranges of Cordillera Real of Bolivia and its snow peaks. This traditional island is inhabited by islanders of Quechua origin, as opposed to the majority of population of Puno who are of Aymara origin. Taquile lives in its own world, completely detached from the rest of the world, maintaining their ancient Quechua traditions. Its scenery is stunning, red soil in contrast with the intense blue of the lake, the sky and a striking background of snowcapped mountains of the Cordillera Real. On the higher part of the island are remains of ancient stone buildings, somewhat like quarters and roads. Return to the hotel. After lunch, you will enjoy another guided excursion to the Sacred Lake of the Incas; buy now to the Uros floating Isles on Lake Titicaca, located on the National Reserve of Titicaca on the Bay of Puno. Made from totora reeds, these Islands are home of the Uros community which pre-dates the Incan civilization. They call themselves kot-suña or people of the lake who claim to have "black blood", as they are consequently immune to the cold and consider themselves the owners of the lake and its waters. They continue living on the islands by fishing, weaving and now, tourism. Return to the hotel to enjoy a delicious dinner prepared with wholesome regional ingredients. Overnight at Hotel Titilaka, at the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Day 08: TITILAKA / PUNO / CUSCO
After breakfast, early morning transfer to the train station to board the full day Andean Explorer luxury service to the enchanting city of Cusco, former capital of the Inca Empire. In the first part of the journey, the train travels across a sea of seemingly-endless coarse grassland through villages lost in time, before climbing to La Raya (4,321 meters), the highest point on the journey. The train continues passing through Raqchi, where the remains of the Great Temple of Wiracocha, the supreme god of the Incas, can just be seen to the right of the train. The train journey will continue passing through Andean villages until it reaches Urcos, where lies the lake which gives the village its name. This town, as local legend suggests, was the place where local chieftains hide the Inca gold anxious to prevent the Spanish from melting down their sacred objects. Once at Rumicolca, you will be close enough to the great stone gateway of the same name that silently guarded the southern approach to Cusco. Finally on its way to Cusco the train heads north-west, following the Huatanay River through green fields dotted with willow trees and eucalyptus groves, passing outlying communities gathered around colonial churches. Overnight at Hotel Monasterio.

Day 09: CUSCO
After breakfast, you will enjoy a guided tour to the most magical city, former capital of the Inca Empire, experiencing the architectural legacy visible in many buildings and ruins. This guided sightseeing tour includes The Plaza de Armas, surrounded by colonial arcades, The Koricancha (Temple of The Sun); The Cathedral, dating back to 1559; among other colonial churches. However, for those bursting with energy, horseback riding excursions, mountain biking tours or whitewater rafting can be arranged. On the way you will enjoy a delicious brunch, while you admire the spectacular scenery of the Sacred Valley on this unique train journey. The train follows the meandering Urubamba River through beautiful farmlands and picturesque villages. Hidden by mountains and the semi-tropical jungle, Machu Picchu is widely considered the most spectacular sight on the South American continent and the most renowned examples of Incan architecture. Upon arrival, a bus waits for a half-hour ride up several switchbacks to take you to the actual site to enjoy your guided tour through the main spots in this breathtaking Incan citadel, including The Main Plaza; The Royal Quarters; The Temple of the Three Windows; The Circular Towers; The Sacred Sun Dial; and The Burial Grounds. For the hiking enthusiasts, going up the Huayna Picchu peak for a magnificent view overlooking the site or trekking the original Inca Trail to the Intipunku or Sun gate is also suggested. At the appointed time you will enjoy a delicious lunch at the hotel, to later board the deluxe Hiram Bingham afternoon train service back to Cusco. On the way you will enjoy pre-dinner cocktails and a delicious à la carte dinner. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to Hotel Monasterio. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 12: CUSCO / VALLE SAGRADO / CUSCO
After breakfast you will enjoy a full day guided excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas experiencing unforgettable view as you cross over the mountains from Cusco and drop down into the Urubamba Valley. The road follows the meandering Urubamba River and passes through rich agricultural lands and picturesque villages. Upon arrival to the colorful town of Pisac you will visit its lively and colorful Indian market. Here locals, following ancient traditions, sell and exchange a variety of crafts (textiles and ceramics). In la hacienda you will be able to admire the valuable collection of colonial and popular art the Lambarri family posses. Finally you will continue to the Inca fortress and the village of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, protecting it from possible invasion from the tribes in the lower jungle. This astounding feat of construction and ingenuity is considered a Living Inca Town as it is the only Inca settlement that has been continually inhabited since its inception. Above the village, the Incas built an impressive fortress that included a temple, agricultural terraces and an urban area. Ollantaytambo, considering its distribution, was an important administrative center with military functions. After the excursion, return transfer to Hotel Monasterio. At the night, if you agree with, we can arrange a delicious dinner at one of the most distinguish restaurants (Cicciolina, Incanto, MAP Café, Greens, Baco, Fallen Angels, among others) near the Main Square and enjoy the night atmosphere trying the delicious Peruvian cuisine with and a Pisco Sour, while listening to traditional Inca music.
