Day 01:
... / LIMA
Upon arrival, reception and transfer to selected hotel. The city of Lima was founded by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro on January 5, 1535, the eve of the Epiphany of the Magi – from which it derived its evocative original name of La Ciudad de los Reyes or “The City of Kings”. It is a colonial city of rare fascination and unexpected pleasures; with quiet elegant corners among ancient buildings where the night air is scented with jasmine. Overnight in lima.
Day 02:
LIMA / HUARAZ
After breakfast, at the appointed time, transfer to the station to board the bus service to Huaraz. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to selected hotel. Rest of the afternoon at leisure to acclimatize. Overnight in Huaraz.
Day 03:
HUARAZ / CORDILLERA BLANCA TREK (+ / - 4 hours trek)
Early bus transfer to Cashapampa. Upon your arrival, after meeting your mountain guides, you will start hiking to Llamacorral, location of your first campsite. Overnight in Llamacorral.
Day 04:
CORDILLERA BLANCA TREK (+ / - 5 hours trek)
After breakfast, you will start hiking up Santa Cruz's wide valley, passing Ichiccocha and Jatuncocha lakes; arriving at Quisuar, where you will enjoy lunch. At this point, if conditions allow it, you will hike towards Alpamayo base camp, where you will enjoy a spectacular view of snowcapped peaks. Then you will get back to the trail and continue trekking to Taullipampa, at the foot of the impressive Taulliraju peak, location of your second campsite. Overnight in Taullipampa.
Day 05:
CORDILLERA BLANCA TREK (+ / - 7 hours trek)
After breakfast, you will start the most strenuous but the most spectacular day ascending by a steep zig zag path at the foot of the impressive Taulliraju, overlooking the Taullicocha turquoise lake, to the east side of the Cordillera Blanca. On the way you will pass through Punta Union, an excellent point to enjoy a spectacular view of impressive snowcapped peaks. Once in the east side you will start your descending hike towards Huaripampa, location of your third campsite. On the way you stop for lunch at Morococha lake. Overnight in Huaripampa.
Day 06:
CORDILLERA BLANCA TREK / HUARAZ
After breakfast, you will start your last trekking day descending to the small Andean town of Colcabamba to then ascend towards Vaqueria, from where you will be transferred to the Portachuelo de LLanganuco (4,765 mts), a vantage view point to admire the amazing Huascarán. Then you will descend to Llanganuco Valley to visit the Llanganuco Lagoon. In late afternoon you will start your return trip back to Huaraz.
Day 07:
HUARAZ / LIMA / ...
After breakfast, transfer to the station to board the bus service to Lima. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the airport or selected hotel.
