Day 01:
... / LIMA
Upon arrival you may choose, depending on your arriving time, between staying at the airport’s hotel and rest to board your early flight or being transfer to an hotel in the cosmopolitan Miraflores area of Lima, where, if the hour permits it, you may just walk around Miraflores, which is known for its shopping areas, restaurants, gardens, flower-filled parks and beaches. Overnight in Lima.
Day 02:
LIMA /CUSCO
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to selected hotel. You may find the altitude a little hard to handle at first so we recommend the rest of the morning to rest and acclimatize. In the afternoon, we suggest to just sit and sip a coca tea in one of the cafes on the balconies overlooking the Plaza de Armas; stroll through the bustling Plaza de Armas in the heart of Cusco; or visit the San Blas district, with its narrow and very picturesque streets, which is known as the artists distinct and is full of workshops and craft shops as well as some good cafes and restaurants. At night we recommend visiting any restaurant or bar near the Main Square and enjoy the night atmosphere trying the delicious Peruvian cuisine with and a Pisco Sour, while listening to traditional Inca music. Overnight in Cusco.
Day 03:
CUSCO
After breakfast morning at leisure. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided tour to the most magical city, former capital of the Inca Empire, experiencing the architectural legacy visible in many buildings and ruins. This guided sightseeing tour includes The Plaza de Armas, surrounded by colonial arcades, The Koricancha (Temple of The Sun); The Cathedral, dating back to 1559; among other colonial churches. Then you will drive out the city to enjoy a guided visit to the nearby ruins, visiting the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman overlooking Cusco, a true testimonial to Incan architectural skills; Qenko (The Labyrinth), an Incan shrine dedicated to Pachamama or Mother Earth; the small red fortress of Puka Pukara; and Tambomachay, a sacred fountain known as the Baths of the Incas. Return to the hotel. At night we recommend visiting any restaurant or bar near the Main Square and enjoy the night atmosphere trying the delicious Peruvian cuisine with and a Pisco Sour, while listening to traditional Inca music. Overnight in Cusco.
Day 04:
CUSCO / INCA TRAIL ( + / - 6 hours trek)
Early bus transfer to kilometer 82 of the Cusco- Machu Picchu railway. Upon arrival, after meeting your guides, you will start trekking along the left bank of the Urubamba River for approximately six hours. On the way to Huayllabamba, location of your first campsite, you will visit the Inca city of Patallacta. Overnight in Huayllabamba.
Day 05:
INCA TRAIL (+ / - 7 hours trek)
After breakfast, you will start the most strenous but the most spectacular day ascending to the highest point of the trail (Abra Warmihuanusca at 4,200 mts). On the way you will observe how the the landscape changes from Sierra to Puna; admire panoramic views of the spectacular scenery including cloud forest and snow-capped mountains; visit de archeological complexs of Runkuray y Sayamarca; to finally arrive to your second campsite at Pacaymayu. Overnight in Pacaymayu.
Day 06:
INCA TRAIL (+ / - 8 hours trek)
After breakfast, you will continue hikking in the most relaxing, as most of the trail is flat or descending. You will appreciate how the scenery starts changing from snow-capped mountains to green tropical forest. On the way you will visit the archaeological complex of Phuyupatamarca and Intipata to finally arrive to your last campsite at Winayhuayna. Overnight in Winayhuayna.
Day 07:
INCA TRAIL / MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO
After an early breakfast, a morning short hike will take you to Intipunku, “gate of the sun”, the entrance and best place to admire the spectacular citadel of Machu Picchu. After descending to the site you will enjoy a guided tour in this magical city. In the afternoon, at the appointed time, you will board the train service back to Cusco.
Day 08:
CUSCO
After breakfast, free day in Cusco for: relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere in its many restaurants and bars; strolling through this lovely city exploring the local markets, squares and picturesque streets; or shopping traditional Peruvian handicrafts. However, for those bursting with energy, horseback riding excursions, mountain biking tours or whitewater rafting can be arranged. At night we recommend visiting any restaurant or bar near the Main Square and enjoy the night atmosphere trying the delicious Peruvian cuisine with and a Pisco Sour, while listening to traditional Inca music. Overnight in Cusco.
Day 09:
CUSCO / LIMA / ...
After breakfast, at the appointed time, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima and international connection.
