OVERVIEW
Chachapoyas, which means People of the Clouds, is the name of a civilization that was one of the last kingdoms to succumb to the Inca, its legacy includes one of South America's archaeological wonders - the defensive fortress of Kuelap. Day 01:

Early in the morning you will depart from Chiclayo by car or minibus to Chachapoyas for an approximately seven hours drive. On the way you will enjoy a box lunch. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to selected hostel. Overnight in Chachapoyas..
Day 02:
CHACHAPOYAS / REVASH / LEYMEBAMBA / CHACHAPOYAS
After breakfast you will enjoy a guided excursion by horse to the Archeological Complex of Revash, colorful funeral buildings perched on a ledge up high on a Cliff overlooking the valley near the town of Santo Tomas. The tombs walls at Revash are decorated with geometric designs and figures of camelids. After enjoying a box lunch, you will continue with the excusrion to the town of Leymebamba, where you will enjoy a guided visit to Centro Mallqui Museum that hosts an amazing collection of well-preserved pre-inca mummies discovered in the Laguna de los Condores. CHACHAPOYAS / KUELAP / CHACHAPOYAS
After breakfast you will enjoy a fascinating full day guided excursion to Kuelap, a spectacular pre-Inca fortress hidden atop a precipitous mountain at an altitude of 3,080 meters. Although Kuelap was discovered sixty years before Machu Picchu, it is not as well-known to the outside world. Nevertheless recent amazing discoveries in nearby areas that relate to Kuelap and to its history have captured the attention of archaeologists, international magazines and film companies. Day 04:
CHACHAPOYAS / CATARATA DE GOTCA O MACRO & SARCOFAGOS DE KARAJIA / CHACHAPOYAS
After breakfast, you may choose between enjoying a full day guided excursion to Gocta Waterfall, considered as the world’s third-tallest waterfall (771 meters). To get to the waterfall you will have to trek for approximately three hours from the town of Cocachimba. On the way, you will admire the la Pitaya Petroglyphes, high beliefs drawn on a 100 square meter stone area; or enjoy a morning guided trek to the Archeological Complex of Macro and an afternoon guided excursion to the pre-inca funerary site of the Karajia Sarcophagi, well-known due to its unique kind of burial pattern that consists of a two parts structure; the upper one to the statue’s head and the bottom one to the funerary capsule surrounding the corpse.
