OVERVIEW
Spring lasts forever in Trujillo, the sun is always shining even in the most hidden place, cheering the kind spirit of its people, who are proud of their mud and adobe cities built by the ancient Chimus and Mochicas; of their gorgeous mansion legacy of the Colonial period; and of their Marinera, a national dance in Peru that blossoms love amid whirlpools of sensuality and gallantry. Trujillo's charm goes way beyond its pre-Hispanic and Colonial past. You can find the Citadel of Chan-Chan on the Moche Valley, the Capital of the Great Chimú Kingdom, considered the largest adobe city in the entire world. You can also find remarkable huacas (pre-Incan sacred places) built by the Mochicas like the Huaca of the Sun and of the Moon, which measure more than twenty meters high..
