OVERVIEW
The Cotahuasi Canyon is one of the most spectacular canyons in the world with wonderful mountain scenery making it a superb hiking. Actually, it is the deepest known canyon in the world (3,354 mts.), deeper than the Colca Canyon. The canyon is full of a great variety of sceneries that increase its beauty thanks to the vigilant presence of the snowcapped Coropuna and Solimana Mountains. The weather diversity in this region has helped creating the adequate habitats for a variegated flora and fauna. The main attraction in the Cotahuasi area is the Cataratas de Sipia, an impressive waterfall located in the heart of the canyon. However, more than just the falls, the entire setting is spectacular..
