Colca Canyon, the second deepest canyon in our planet (double deep Grand Canyon of United States), offers some of the finest sceneries of the Andean mountains, as well as one of the best trekking and climbing in Peru. ITINERARY
Day 01:
AREQUIPA / CAMINATA COLCA ( + / - 4 hours trek)
Early morning bus transfer to Cabanaconde. On the way you will enjoy an impressive view of the fabulous Colca Canyon. Upon arrival, you will meet your guides and start hiking down into the canyon, crossing the Colca River on your way to San Juan de Chuccho. In the afternoon you may visit the town. Day 02:
COLCA TREK (+ / - 3 hours trek)
After breakfast, you will continue hiking to Sangalle. On the way you will visit the picturesque villages of Coshñirgua and Malata, having the chance to meet the locals. Overnight in Sangalle..
Day 03:
COLCA TREK / AREQUIPA (+ / - 5 hours trek)
After an early rise, to catch the sunrise over Colca Canyon, you will start hiking up the canyon to Cabanaconde, on the way you may have the possibility of spotting condors. Upon arrival and after a restoring breakfast, you will board the local bus service to Chivay. On the way, you will stop at “Cruz del Condor”, the best vantage point to view Colca Canyon and admire the majestic condor on flight, if the conditions allow it.
