OVERVIEW
Puno hugs the shores of fabled Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable body of water, a mystical and sacred place in Andean mythology since, according to the legend, the children of the Sun God, emerged from its waters to found the Tawantinsuyo (Inca Empire). Its main attractions are the Uros Islands, a fantastic and unique compound comprised of artificial isles built from the totora reed (marsh reeds); the Taquile Island, where its habitants are distinguished by their detailed, fine, and colourful textiles and handicrafts; and Sillustani, an impressive fortified burial towers (chullpas), where nobles were buried in these cylindrical chullpas in pre-Inca times..

ITINERARY
Day 01: ... / PUNO
Upon arrival, reception and transfer to selected hotel in Puno. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Puno..

Day 02: PUNO / ISLAS UROS / ISLA TAQUILE
After breakfast, at appointed time, you will enjoy a full day motor boat excursion to the Sacred Lake of The Incas, visiting the floating Uros Islands, a group of 40 big island-like packs of floating totora (marsh reeds), consider a unique tourist attraction in the world, where you will appreciate how the “Uros” still live like their ancestors with the same customs and idiosyncrasy. After a typical lunch you will visit Taquile Island, the largest island in the reserve, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives still governed by their ancient traditions, whose main occupations are the production of fine ceramics and textiles. You will stay one night at the house (prepared to receive tourists) of a local islander to enjoy the traditions and customs of a typical home surrounded by a beautiful scenery. Day 03: ISLA TAQUILE / PUNO
After breakfast, you will have plenty of time to walk around this beautiful island admiring its unique scenery or you may interact with locals, appreciating there great ethnical and cultural values. In the afternoon, after lunch, you will start your return trip to Puno. Upon arrival, reception, and transfer to your selected hotel in Puno. Overnight in Puno..

Day 04: PUNO / ...
After the breakfast, at the appointed time, transfer to the airport to board your flight. On the way, you will enjoy a guided visit to the famous Sillustani Tombs, which are located between Puno and Juliaca. Sillustani sits on a small hilltop overlooking Lake Umayo.
