Overview:
Chachani Downhill excursion is for all mountain biking lovers. Peru has one of the largest networks of innumerable trails that connect with the most amazing sites, passing through remote villages out of the reach of motorized vehicles, and having the chance to visit local Andean communities and learn their amazing life style. This adventure starts with an unforgettable descent down a winding gravel road followed by a technically demanding stony path and an adrenaline inducing cross-country and track to finish with an enjoyable descent into the outskirts of Arequipa. You will have the support of a vehicle for the whole duration of the trip.
Itinerary:
Early morning pick-up at your hotel for a three hours’ drive to Chachani Volcano. On the way you will pass through the National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas where you may observe a great variety of fauna. Upon arrival your professional guides will give you a safety chat and provide you with all the proper equipment for your full-day guided mountain biking excursion. You will start the adventure with a 1,000 meters drop on a nice stony and sandy compact road with tight curves. Then you will ride 16 kilometers through an ascent (200 meters) sandy road. Finally you will descend approximately 2,000 meters in two hours following a paved road with minimal traffic, arriving to Arequipa at approximately 4.00 pm. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.
